A project under consideration costs 0,000, has a 5-yr life, and has no salvage value. Depreciation is straight-line to zero. The required return is 17%,and the tax rate is 34%.Sales are projected at 500 units per yr.Price per unit is ,500,variable cost per unit is ,500,and fixed costs are 0,000 per yr.
A)Suppose you think that the unit sales, price, variable cost, and fixed cost projections given here are accurate to within 5%.What is the base-case NPV? What are the best and worse case scenario NPVs?
Ok in the book this is what it reads:(I’ll only give you best-case b/c I won’t have enough space to write it here. Hopefully I will know what to do with the others)Depreciation is 0,000 per yr. At 17%,5 yr annuity factor is 3.19935
Best Case
Unit Sales=525
Unit Price=2,625
Unit Variable Cost=1,425
Fixed Cost=190,000
Cash Flow=341,400
So my question is how did they get 341,400 as the cash flow, and how did they get 3.19935 as the annuity factor?(How would u use a calc?
For the Base-Case:
Unit Sales=500
Unit Price=,500
Unit Variable Cost=,500
Fixed Cost=0,000
Cash Flow=9,000

Worst Case:
Unit Sales=475
Unit Price=,375
Unit Variable Cost=,575
Fixed Cost=0,000
Cash Flow=3,200
So how do u get the cash flows and annuity factor(which is 3.19935)?

My boyfriend is a successful engineer, his father is a multi-millionaire that owned an insurance agency, his older brother is a filthy rich investment banker, his best friend is the son of the president of Otis elevators, etc. They all live in incredible houses, drives fancy cars, play golf, etc. You get the picture.

I, though, come from a lower-middle class family and none of us are loaded. I love my family very much, of course, but I feel like I won’t fit in with the people in my boyfriend’s life…which will make coming out for him even harder than it already is…

middleclassman << Best Pro-Liberal Story ever.?

We don`t pretend we get things done becasue we are not against everything. Just ask Joe the conservative.
Joe gets up at 6 a.m. and fills his coffeepot with water to prepare his morning coffee.

The water is clean and good because some tree-hugging liberal fought for minimum water-quality standards.

With his first swallow of water, he takes his daily medication. His medications are safe to take because some stupid commie liberal fought to ensure their safety and that they work as advertised.

All but of his medications are paid for by his employer’s medical plan because some liberal union workers fought their employers for paid medical insurance – now Joe gets it too.

He prepares his morning breakfast, bacon and eggs. Joe’s bacon is safe to eat because some girly-man liberal fought for laws to regulate the meat packing industry.

In the morning shower, Joe reaches for his shampoo. His bottle is properly labeled with each ingredient and its amount in the total
contents because some crybaby liberal fought for his right to know what he was putting on his body and how much it contained.

Joe dresses, walks outside and takes a deep breath. The air he breathes is clean because some environmentalist wacko liberal fought for the laws to stop industries from polluting our air.He walks on the government-provided sidewalk to subway station for his government-subsidized ride to work. It saves him considerable money in parking and transportation fees because some fancy-pants liberal fought for affordable public transportation, which gives everyone the opportunity to be a conributor.

Joe begins his work day. He has a good job with excellent pay, medical benefits, retirement, paid holidays and vacation because some lazy liberal union members fought and died for these working standards.

Joe’s employer pays these standards because Joe’s employer doesn’t want his employees to call the union. If Joe is hurt on the job or becomes unemployed, he’ll get a worker compensation or unemployment check because some stupid liberal didn’t think he should lose his home because of his temporary misfortune. It is noon time and Joe needs to make a bank deposit so he can pay some bills. Joe’s deposit is federally insured by the FSLIC because some godless liberal wanted to protect Joe’s money from unscrupulous bankers who ruined the banking system before the Great Depression.

Joe has to pay his Fannie Mae-underwritten mortgage and his below-market federal student loan because some elitist liberal decided that Joe and the government would be better off if he was educated and earned more money over his lifetime. Joe also forgets that his in addition to his federally subsidized student loans, he attended a state funded university.

Joe is home from work. He plans to visit his father this evening at his farm home in the country. He gets in his car for the drive. His car is among the safest in the world because some America-hating liberal fought for car safety standards to go along with the tax-payer funded roads. He arrives at his boyhood home.

His was the third generation to live in the house financed by Farmers’ Home Administration because bankers didn’t want to make rural loans. The house didn’t have electricity until some big-government liberal stuck his nose where it didn’t belong and demanded rural electrification.

He is happy to see his father, who is now retired. His father lives on Social Security and a union pension because some wine-drinking, cheese-eating liberal made sure he could take care of himself so Joe wouldn’t have to.

Joe gets back in his car for the ride home, and turns on a radio talk show. The radio host keeps saying that liberals are bad and conservatives are good. He doesn’t mention that the beloved Republicans have fought against every protection and benefit Joe enjoys throughout his day.

Joe agrees: "We don’t need those big-government liberals ruining our lives! After all, I’m a self-made man who believes everyone should take care of themselves, just like. I have."

She dishonors her son’s memory and now she bought land by Bush’s ranch just to bother him any time he’s down there. I read she recieved 0,000.00 death benefits from her son’s honorable death and had someone buy the land for her, the man told people he was a refugee from Katrina, and wanted the land to rebuild himself a house. She is a person of subtrafuge and a dishonor to her son’s volunteer service to this country.

I might be meeting a guy I have talked to online for 2 years. I’m really excited but at the same time I’m terrified because what if we don’t have the same chemistry in real life? I’m 22 and going with a friend to meet him for coffee so safety isn’t a concern.
Has anyone met an internet bf/gf in real life and how did it go?

If the divorce decree mandates that a 0k life insurance be maintained – can I deduct the premiums? I looked and read over the irs publication but it’s a little unclear to me. It says you can if the decree states you must hold life insurance and the former spouse owns the policy. What does that mean? Policies in which the former spouse is required to be the beneficiary? The beneficiaries are my children – not my ex so can I deduct since the court is making me maintain this level of a policy? All children are under 18 if that makes a difference. Thank you!
Since the ex would be the legal guardian I would suppose they would get control of the funds at least until the children turned 18 so would that count as her "owning" the policy?

Bodily Injury Settlement Question

I was in an automobile accident just over two years ago. I was rear ended while stopped at an intersection. My truck was totalled and I sustained a severe whip lash that caused permanent damage. The other person’s insurance company paid for my truck and was fair in the settlement. The bodily injury adjuster has all of my medical records and a letter from my chiropractor stating that my range of motion has been dramatically deminished, cannot be repaired, and that the pain that I experience when turning my head will be with me for the rest of my life.

The adjustor is offering ,200 inclusive of medical bills for the injury. This seems very low to me since the injury is permanent. I really don’t want to have to get an attorney involved and don’t want to be punitive. I just want to get what is a fair settlement. My meidical bills are already over ,000 and I will have to see my chiropractor for the rest of my life.

Am I expecting too much or is this offer very low? If it seems low to you, what do you think would be fair? Thanks.
