Does my employer have a certain amount of time in which insurance claims must be paid on a self funded plan?
I work for a company that has a self funded health plan. My husband had surgery and the bills are now past due (we are going on five months since he was first seen for this injury). My employer is not paying the portion he owes of these bills and we are being threatened with collections. Can my employer do this?
My husband was not hurt at work. It was a sports injury.

You have to pay the bills and sue your employer. Happened at my employer 10 yrs ago. Turned out the third party administrator was embezzling. Caused all insurance bills to be almost a year behind. The union did sue in my case.
yes?
You mentioned the word injury. Was he hurt while working?
