I don’t have health insurance but I was offered a health insurance claim from GEICO covering ,500 of medical expenses. GEICO does not offer a list of places to visit and I would like to get an xray for my swollen ankle.

It’s already mandatory that we have auto insurance… Can anybody say their car is more important to them than their life?
I`m getting a lot of "auto-insurance is not mandatory" answers… Your logic is flawed, because you do not have to have life insurance if you do not want to live…
And the fact is… if you do want to live, you need life insurance
i mean health* insurance

I’m 24 and have no health insurance. I have very painful periods that disrupt my life, and I was told that the pill is the best way to help. I don’t make enough money to pay for it or a doctor’s visit. Any suggestions?

I mean… it seems to me… that We as a global-society say that we WANT to cure disease, but the fact is that doctors and hospitals and drug companies and health insurance companies, woud loose money if we were to suddenly cure everything….
Don’t you think it kind of seems like they want us to get better but not alllll the way better. It’s almost like they just want to cure the symptoms with a pill (an expensive pill) and have us go about our lives needing them… paying them…etc.

with car insurance, for example, everyone who drives is required by law to have it, though the only thing it covers is like if you are in an accident or something major happens. But if you have to have work done on your car, you have to pay for that yourself. On the other hand, if you can’t afford car insurance or to take driving school or fees, no government program pays for it for you; you simply aren’t able to drive. And there are likewise no complaints from people about increased taxes to pay for other people’s car insurance . Now granted this is totally different scenario, but for the sake of argument let’s just compare that to health insurance, and say that health insurance only covered major things like life-or-death surgery, but if you just had a minor problem and wanted to see a healthcare provider, you had to pay for that yourself. If you had a problem with your car and didn’t want to or couldn’t pay to get it fixed, you just wouldn’t do it either, so follow me here. Also as is the case with car insurance, if you could not afford health insurance, you just couldn’t have it and there was no government program to cover the cost. I know how unruly this all sounds, but it is strictly for the sake of argument. The point is, if health insurance was like car insurance then there would be no complaints from people about increased taxes to pay for other people’s health insurance, because they wouldn’t be doing it, primary care costs would be under control, and people could still have affordable insurance to see a specialist in the event of a dire emergency. Has this been considered?

This is just a simple direct question here. I don’t pretend to know too much about politics as it disgusts me most of the time when I do follow it. Right now, I like a lot of people, are in survival mode. Just trying to live a halfway decent life under the circumstances. Also, like a lot of people, I can no longer afford my health insurance at work because the rates have skyrocketed!
If TPTB would actually lower the rates and make health care affordable for all, even if it does cost them their precious cushy profits, then you would think it would benefit them regardless in the long run because even at lower rates, people might actually be happy to buy that insurance because (go figure) they can afford it! With more people graciously purchasing health insurance, everyone on all sides would be happy. Why can’t it be that easy!?
Ah, but what do I know. The question I’m really asking remains this: How soon are we expected to buy health insurance once Obama drops his John Hancock on that awful health care bill? Thank you!
