In NYC if an agent sells a Life Ins. policy (that lasts as long as the premiums are paid and is fixed – not variable), for how many years does he make commissions from that policy? What is the structure of the agents commissions, if over several years is it a fixed amount or a %, does it stay the same or lessens over time)?

if you buy whole life they tell you you can borrow "your money" but you have to pay back with interest because if you don’t if you die the company will deduct the money you borrow from the death benefit sya you have 100,000 insurance and you take 20 and don’t pay it back you die your family only gets 80,000. and if you dont take any money and you have 100,000 benefit and 20,000 cash value and you die your family gets 100,000 and the company keeps your cash value.now universal life is a little confusing it works like this example you buy 100,000 for 45 dls a month with part of this they buy you a annualy renewal term ins.the rest goes to a savings account what happens every year it cost them more to keep this term ins. on you aroun 48 years of age what you pay in premiums it is not enough to cover this term ins. so what they do they start using the money from your savings to keep your premium the same but around age 67 your cash value is gonesoyouneedtopaymoretokeepyourinsurance

I work for an ins. agent as a salesperson selling insurance. Its a small agency. He just hired a friend…& told her she’s going to make his life alot easier. I was doing everything before she was hired and I kind of resent hearing that. He’s also been more distant to me. Also, he’s been complaining about not having time to train me………I’ve only been there 2 months…..I think he thinks this girl he hired is smarter than me……(he even made a comment that "she can do this already") but she just started this week and there’s no guarantee she’ll be able to sell or not goof up on aspects of the job. Is he planning on replacing me with her or am I just paranoid?

I am recently out of the military and need to purchase an individual health ins policy. However, I am not sure which ones are the best. I am a student, do they offer any good student policies? Also, is the SGLI to VGLI conversion a good change to make? If not, which is better term or whole life insurance policies?

I know I want to work at home. I used to sell insurance at home & it spoiled me. I think my former employer needs a customer service rep. but I am not sure. This is better than sales cause I would have a steady income. I really messed up my life before by not having a steady income. I had to quite working with a sick family member & I was in debt which is the way a person starts out in auto home ins. sales cause they don’t get paid for their sales until the people are due for their policy to begin. Then there were computer problems I had so many things happen. OK, now I have to start over. …I don’t love insurance. I once worked at a friends specialty toy store & I would love to just take orders for a place like that but don’t know who is hiring for that. I love books & would love to talk to people ordering books & I have an idea as to who is hiring for that….I know if I call my past employer there is a chance he will hire me as a CSR for the insuance agency. I am kind of panicing because I need money fast. I would have to take a week long class & get lisenced which cost about 0 for the ins. work…..I don’t know what to do & have put this off for so long. How can I make this decision. My son told me to go get a local job. If I do that I will make such a little bit of money that I will end up in deeper trouble. Any clarity you can offer?
