If I were running for President?

If I were running would you vote for me based on my views below. I have asked it before but at different times to get a full feedback from users. If you have seen this question before then sorry, im just trying to get feedback because it is very interesting for me. Thanks

Abortion-
Although I do not believe life begins at conception I do believe that abortion should be illegal except in the case of rape, incest because its purpose it too eventually become life.

Affirmative Action-
It needs to be ended now. It no longer serves a purpose and those with the best ability should be the ones hired.

Death Penalty-
I support the death penalty.

Economy-
I support very few government regulations. I believe free market is best for the economy.

Education-
We need education reform and I support School vouchers because I believe it allows parents to have more options for their child.

Embryonic Stem Cell Research-
I support this for the greater good of mankind.

Energy-
I believe we need to start looking at alternative energy but at the same time I believe that our resources we use at the moment do not need to be replaced asap.

Euthanasia and Physician-assisted suicide-
I believe it is immoral.

Global Warming-
Scientist have proven that our climate goes up and down. Every few thousand years the Earth does heat up so I do not believe in Global Warming.

Gun Control-
We have a right to bear arms and it is unconstitutional to take that away.

Health Care-
We need to reform Medicare/Medicaid as well as set laws and regulations towards the way insurance companies treat their customers instead of creating a government run health care system.

Immigration-
We need to secure our borders. I support legal immigration but not illegal immigration and actions need to be taken to stop it.

Religion and Government-
We need to separate them. I am Christian but I believe religion has no place in government.

Social Security-
Well it is in peril so it either needs major reform or needs to be privatized.

Taxes-
We need to reform taxes. We need to have less tax on lower income and more tax on higher income. We need to make sure our taxes are covering the budget but at the same time recognize high taxes may hinder the free market.

United Nations-
It has shown it wants to be controlling and the United States should try to stop letting it get so involved in our national matters.

War on Terror-
I believe the best way to win is to simply come home, secure our borders, and start fixing our economy to show we are strong.

Welfare-
No long term welfare, the purpose should be to help people get back on their feet not to let them steal from tax payer dollars.

Gay Rights-
I support civil unions and equal rights although not gay marriage as the title of marriage is reserved for a man and a woman.

From "The history of the University of East Anglia, Norwich By Michael Sanderson",
an official history of The UEA.

Professor Lamb came to Norwich as “the ice man”, attracting much attention for his prophecy of world cooling and a future ice age within 10,000 years. Within a few years in Norwich, in which the heat wave had intervened, he had switched to warning of global warming with dire predictions of forest and crop belts being shifted, melting ice caps and drowned cities. A holocaust within a century was an even more exciting prospect than an ice age within ten millennia and it all helped to shape contemporary attitudes to global warming. It also drew much attention to UEA, as did two international conferences in 1973 and 1975 which he hosted in Norwich. Most importantly Lamb attracted financial sponsorship from seven leading insurance companies who were also making their own studies of climate pattern and calling on the research of the UEA with a view to minimising their insurance losses from storm and flood.

So here we have, as I keep being told is rubbish, the most accomplished climatologist of his day changing his mind over a period of a "few" years, minus one for the heatwave which my maths makes two years.
Are we to believe after a lifetime’s lauded work, he realised he’d been completely wrong all his working life so changed his mind more or less overnight?
What fresh evidence could possibly have come to light in a three, yes three year period.
Surely if the man realised he’d been wrong since 1936 he should have taken his pension and gone to tend his roses?
The most telling excerpt in all this is the one:" beginning "A holocaust".
Who now does not believe that Climatology was not stood on its head for pecuniary advantage?
I rest my case.
delete the second "not" in the second to last sentence.
EDIT @ Paul:
The two year gap is simple as I stated.
A "few" is three; three minus the hot summer is two, QED.
The book quoted is the official history of the UEA, hardly a "wiki" or a "blog", but the history commissioned by the University.
“A holocaust within a century was an even more exciting prospect than an ice age within ten millennia and it all helped to shape contemporary attitudes to global warming.” Dramatic to say the least, the university to my mind admits that this grabbed headlines thus attracting the funding, the “pecuniary advantage” I mentioned.
I ask again, how could the most respect Climatologist of the day change his belief in Global Cooling in (let’s be generous) three years? What startling evidence came to light? The man started work in 1936, went to UEA in 1972. In the 36 years prior to moving to the UEA he was an advocate of Global Cooling, in three years he had changed his mind, why? Pray do tell.
EDIT @^, all I ask is" What new evidence could possibly come to loght in a three year period, surely not too much to ask?"
8th September 1972. H. H. Lamb as “ice man”.

EDIT:@Paulmake your attacks on a man of great personal integrity more vicious,
.great personal integrity ??
This is the man who whilst working for the then War Office, managed to get himself posted to a neutral country (Ireland)for the duration of hostilities during WW2, returning to the UK after the war was over. Nice work if you can get it. This under the guise of being a Quaker, strange it didn’t stop him taking the War Office’s money all those years, as soon as danger threatened he scuttled off to a nice safe billet for the duration. great personal integrity? I don’t think so.

How difficult is it to start an insurance agency?

I am currently an independent agent & do it part time to suppliment my regular income. I have been toying with the idea of starting an agency & contract/employ others so I can also suppliment.

I contract with a few companies now & wanted to see if it would be worth while to start my own agency and get a few small soliciting contracts with some companies that I know of.

Can you tell me how troublesome the process is? I am not trying to franchise though, like an Allstate or State Farm. I would prefer to keep the independence. Any ideas on the fees & costs?
I am already licensed & contracted with several big named & lesser known insurance companies. I used to work for a major area bank brokerage firm as well as an agent with a company & have since gone independent. I have been selling insurance for about 5 years now between annuities (fixed, VA and indexed), term, whole, senior, mortgage protection, and such.

My question is how difficult is the process to start an agency on my own? I know that there must be tons of forms to file & register, state fees, re-licensing as an agency as well as an independent agent. There in lies my question: do I basically need a proctologyst to do this?
How would I already know this? I have worked FOR companies, not BEEN a company. I am tying to take it to that next level. Most employees dont know how to, nor are requiered to know how to start up that company from scratch.

assuming my employer doesn’t just cancel my insurance, our premiums and rates will skyrocket to cover the losses insurance companies will experience due to people abusing the system under "healthcare reform."

likewise, my taxes are going up to help cover the cost of those same people.

shouldn’t obama just get this over with and tax us all 100% of our income…. i mean, then i can just pay my "fair share" and be done with it.

I am working on a product/service that will provide valuable patient information to doctors and aid in patient care, improved quality of life for patients, provide for better management of medication, etc. We would like to keep the service cost very reasonable and affordable …but would like to see about getting this service setup to be a service covered by insurance companies. Where do you start?

The child support system is completely corrupted?

The child support system is completely corrupted because of two faced feminists who want to take little to no financial responsibility for the kids they pump out. The feminists and liberal democrats have created a system that rewards women for pumping out kids. The birth rates for unwed mothers have risen significantly within the past 8 years. What can be done to change the system?

I think ANYBODY that receives any form of government / Child support should be routinely checked for drugs. They should also be submitted to the kinds of testing insurance companies do for life insurance policies. How absurd is it for people to get government assistance and bitch that they have no money while pissing it away on drugs, smoking, and alcohol. Why is it the poor are the ones who mostly carry these addictions?
Yes, typical feminist responses. I was expecting these kind of remarks. I’m sure this forum is cluttered with libs/feminists… Here’s something for you to swallow.

Woman gets pregnant and it’s an inconvenient time for her to have a baby so she has an abortion.

The father has no choice, he’s stuck either way. That’s the most BS I’ve ever heard in my entire life. Here’s another scenario for you..

Woman gets pregnant and decides she wants to keep it while the father doesn’t want anything to do with have a child at that time because it would be "inconvenient" for him. He’s screwed and gets labels thrown at him like "dead beat".. What a nice system..
Tina, you’re about the only sensible person who commented on my question. It’s to bad the far left loons have created a system that targets non custodial fathers. The system is a joke. BTW for the last poster – Your information is ridiculous and didn’t make any sense.

The one guy referenced in your link made 85 grand a year while shelling out almost 30 grand a year in child support…Please tell me that’s not corrupt. It gives no incentive for the custodial parent to get off their butt and make money. The system creates laziness and corruption.

Anyways, thank you Tina for sharing your personal story. I really hope everything works out for you and your family. It’s really a shame these clueless people just don’t get the big picture.

Since the federal government pays out billions in disaster relief (DR), why not have property owners pay into them instead of money hungry insurance companies. When you receive money for a loss from DR, taxpayers are kind of paying themselves and the defecit isn’t raised as much.

Insurance company?

Is there any insurance companies that would insure a 21 year old in the UK with one years no claims on a 2litre fto and how much roughly would it cost?

Technorati Tags: , , , , ,

How is that possible? I’ve applied for Progressive quotes before (and wasn’t impressed at all), but how are they able to do that?

Insurance companies all have complex formulas that are used to calculate rates using several factors, including driving history, location, credit, household drivers, vehicles, etc.

Unless they have robots online that steal competitors’ bandwidth and automatically fill out the forms, it doesn’t seem possible. If that was the case, you would think other companies would block Progressive from abusing their servers.

Any ideas?
