A guy at my work had to do a sleep study, lose a percentage of weight on his own, and have an MRI on his gallbladder for gastric bypass to be approved. I am wondering if anyone else had to do similar things. Also – if people could stray away from the "just excersize, you dont need surgery" responses it would be greatly appreciated. I am just asking a question, not looking for life advice.

Sometimes, we have to step back, and look at ourselves before we point fingers at someone else.

You got juries awarding hundreds of millions of dollars in some cases which doesnt even result in death.

What is the average size of a life insurance policy?

Illinois doctors are leaving some counties, and even the state because of these lawsuits.
We are a free market , it is not the governments job to give us any damn thing at all, except protection.

If you think they are hording all this money from all the premiums they collect, than start an insuarnce company yourself, and charge a lower price, then you would dominate the market !
Universal health care = one step closer to communism.

We dont live in a communist state, and "universal healthcare" scares the sh*t out of me.

I work for an ins. agent as a salesperson selling insurance. Its a small agency. He just hired a friend…& told her she’s going to make his life alot easier. I was doing everything before she was hired and I kind of resent hearing that. He’s also been more distant to me. Also, he’s been complaining about not having time to train me………I’ve only been there 2 months…..I think he thinks this girl he hired is smarter than me……(he even made a comment that "she can do this already") but she just started this week and there’s no guarantee she’ll be able to sell or not goof up on aspects of the job. Is he planning on replacing me with her or am I just paranoid?

I am confused, some people say yes some no. I understand it this way, correct me if I am wrong:

If I buy a policy on my own life, I become the owner of the policy. As the owner, I can name anyone as beneficiary… even a stranger! But only someone who has an "insurable interest" can purchase an insurance policy on my life.

Conclusion:
I buy the policy I choose the beneficiary, if someone buys a policy on my life, they have to have an insurable interest.
Is this correct?

My mom was ill and left a million dollar policy for me and my 2 sisters to split 3 ways.We had the cost of the funeral taken out of the policy. We signed papers with the funeral home and they told us we would get the money in 6-8 weeks due to how large it is. Now american general is doing an investigation to see "if" we get the money as they said. The funeral has already been paid for so we thought everything was ok but we don’t know. Does anybody know anything we can do?

This was a money saving tip from MD Cooperative Extension… "If you save just .74 a day and invest it in a tax-deferred account that just matches the historic return of the the stock market, you would have more than million after 40 years." With a search I found the historic return of the stock market is 10-12% but I don’t know what kind of account to invest in. Are there accounts with a fixed interest rate of at least 10%, that are tax-deferred, and that I can make small contributions toward on a regular basis? Any advice it appreciated!

My mom died last Tuesday. I vaguely remember a commercial say that "Medicare or Social Security" only pays "X" amount toward funeral expenses. One doesn’t want to think about this, I didn’t. So, If anyone can point me in the right direction, my mind will be most grateful.

There was an incident a few weeks ago, I found out in the police report that I was labeled as the suspect.
My "dad" attacked me and then I defended myself.
There was no mark on him, but lots of marks on me, but the report claims my "dad" got a swollen ankle.
So what do you guys think?
I am a minor but is almost 18.
The detective asked me if I wanted him arrested I said no for personal reasons.
Then later someone told me the detective asked me because he didn’t see the report yet.
So what do you guys think?
I can’t believe I’m labeled as the suspect in the report when I’m truely a victim, what an irony!
